Our Place Respite is a community nonprofit (501c3) offering a volunteer-driven, relationship-centered day program for individuals living with memory loss. Hosted at St. James Episcopal Church and open to all, we provide uplifting engagement, shared meals, and meaningful fellowship two days a week.
Our program is inspired by the nationally recognized Respite for All Foundation model, which prioritizes dignity, purpose, and community connection.

To create a community of connection, compassion, and joy for individuals living with memory loss and the caregivers who support them—through a faith-centered, relationship-driven respite program where every person is valued, welcomed, and known.
Our Vision
A community where every person affected by dementia is supported, seen, and celebrated—and where caregivers receive the relief, honor, and connection they deserve.

A Social Model of Care
We follow the nationally recognized Respite for All Foundation model—an evidence-based, volunteer-driven approach focused on social connection rather than medical care.
Our volunteers are trained to offer friendship, encouragement, and purposeful engagement. We blur the line between volunteers and participants so that everyone who enters Our Place becomes part of a shared community of belonging.
Activities include:
• Music & singing
• Creative arts
• Gentle movement & exercise
• Games & conversation
• Intergenerational opportunities
• Service projects
• Shared meals
• Faith-rooted moments of hope (optional & inclusive)

Volunteers are the heartbeat of Our Place.
No experience is needed—just a compassionate spirit and a desire to bring joy to others.
